CALL FOR THE MEETING OF DIRECTORS OR RECTORS OF NORMAL SCHOOLS OR OTHER INSTITUTIONS TRAINING TEACHERS AND PROFESSORS
Since the last International Pedagogy Congresses were held in Havana, there have been successful meetings attended by directors or principals of teacher training colleges and other institutions that train teachers and professors. These fruitful meetings were a clear expression of the strengthening of the bonds of brotherhood among the participants and of the fruitful academic exchange that, without a doubt, contributed considerably to improving the training of qualified teachers in our developing countries.
The next meeting of directors or principals of normal schools or other institutions that train teachers and professors will take place within the framework of the International Congress Pedagogy 2023, to be held at the Havana Convention Center, from February 10 to 13, 2025.
This is the first of the events related to teacher training to which we invite you through this call. It will promote the exchange of knowledge and optimal experiences between directors, principals, teachers and students of educational institutions where teachers and professors are trained. At the same time, the Meeting will promote the sharing of current knowledge, the twinning of teacher training schools, the establishment of other modalities of future exchanges proposed by the participants and the generalization, in other institutions with the same purpose, of the best experiences of the institutions that you represent in the training processes that occur there, practices that also constitute the main strengths of your teacher training centers.
For this reason, we invite you to share at the Meeting topics related to:
- Analysis of the common curricular framework for teacher training in the region
- Characteristics of the curriculum in teacher training
- Evaluating the quality of training
- Comparative study and research
- Professionalization in educational innovation for the development of 21st century teaching skills that promote socio-emotional education, education for global citizenship and sustainable development, and digital education.
- Active learning methodologies
- Developmental didactics for teacher training
- Reflective strategies for teaching
- Link between academic training and educational practice.
- Ways to complete studies at these institutions.
